Community
K-9 SOS strives to add to our community. In the spring of 2008, Paxton & I did an obedience & pet safety demonstration at Southwood. We won honorable mention in Tallahassee Magazine’s “Pets & Their People” contest & article in the July edition, 2008.
K-9 SOS, in partnership with Los Robles Animal Hospital, held the Tally Responsible Dog Ownership Rally as a fundraiser for Big Dog Rescue in the fall, 2009 at Lake Ella. In fall of 2010 K-9 SOS celebrated a 3rd anniversary with a playday for clients in conjunction with a benefit for Leon County Humane Society.
Each December I try to gather our clients together, along with Los Robles Animal Hospital, to participate in the Santa Paws Walk to benefit TREATS. As an IACP member, I collect money for the annual War Dog Fund to support our soldier handlers & their dogs. And K-9 SOS sponsors a flowerbed at Oven Park as part of the Friends of our Parks program so our parks will continue welcoming our furry friends.
Paxton--or Emerson--& I are always interested in visiting schools, community groups, etc. I can talk about basic dog care, training, safety, just about any topic having to do with dogs (& Paxton does a great demo). Invite us - we’d love to come.

Then for real fun and to socialize our dogs — Paxton, Emerson and I get together with clients for K-9 Playtime. This way, all who have trained dogs at K-9 SOS have a safe — infestation and aggression free — place to bring their dogs for supervised play and fun.
